Started in 1976, Because it was a compulsory sport at school. Who was the greatest person you have trained under? Dr. Les Harnos the founder of Zen Bu Kan Kempo (an interview with him can be found at the Zen Bu Kan Kempo website) Who are you currently training under? Tony Luciano Do you still train regularly and how much? I do train regularly about 3 hours a week What are your favourite techniques in Martial arts? Side kick, Corkscrew take down and take downs in general Have you had any major injuries that have prevented you from training? Yeah, I broke my back as a result of a car accident; they had to break it in surgery in order to fix it, so I was out of action for quite a while. Why do you think martial arts are important for personal development? I think it can be an achievement as a single or a group sport or activity and you can’t say that about any other sport. You can take martial arts anywhere you go and all throughout your life. It needs no equipment, no setup, all you need as a small space to be able to practice and away you go. What goal do you have for the future? To keep it going, to keep teaching and passing on my knowledge to others. What advice would you give someone that is just starting out in Black Gi Martial Arts? Keep it up and keep practising, if you do that then you’ll always be better then you were previously.
