| 2010 Martial Arts Goals | | So I've been spending the past couple of days thinking about what my goals for 2010 will be for Martial Arts.
I've come up with just 1 simple goal that really has no time frame.
My goal for 2010 is to 'Train'. Train as much as I can, fully immerse myself in my art until I'm thinking it day in day out.
What are your Martial Arts goals for 2010.

| | I have 2 main goals for 2010, but both will be aligned with the 1 ultimate goal, attaining my 1st degree black belt at some stage this year.
I think a main goal will be to improve my cardio-vascular fitness to a very high standard. I have already commenced and hope to lose a couple of kilo's during this year so that I can be leaner for my grading.
I will also have to focus on the technical side of my syllabus within the Australian Hapkido Association so that all of my techniques are very sound when I come across the other grading participants and the panel of assessors.
I have seen, and expect that the 1st degree grading that I hope to be attempting will be a very torrid affair and expected to go for many hours. I want to have my cardiovascular fitness at a certain level going into the month or so prior to my black belt grading so that I will 'peak' appropriately. I want to attain this level of fitness so that during the afternoon my my grading, my technical capabilities will remain pretty consistent, and not fade away to much with fatigue.
I guess it goes without saying that another goal for this year is to try to remain physically well and uninjured so that there is not many 'gaps' in training due to injuries.
All the best everyone with their 2010 goals.

| | Good luck with your goals guys!
I set mine for 2010 about 2 weeks ago. I've started towards some of them already.
My major ones:
- Compete in the Sydney All Styles (AKF) Feb 28
- Grade for my Shodan Ho on June 18/19
- Compete in the BBMA Intramural tournament - Sep 28
- Grade for my Shodan (1st Dan) in December
- There'll be some other NAS or AKF tournaments throughout the year i'll also compete in.
and some others, which will help me with the ones above :
- Increase my fitness in readiness for my black belt grading (Shodan Ho)
- Practise my hook kicks so I can actually do them properly
- Learn more takedown techniques and get proficient at them
- More slow-kicking practise so I can get much better at kicking
- Increase flexibility (my flexibility is terrible)

| | I'm definately going to try and get in as much training as possible this year. I'm going to start regularly attending Jeet Kune Do classes again to try and keep my skill set well rounded, and the big goal is to try and attain a Gongkwon Yusul black belt by the end of the year. Pencak Silat
Hapkido
Gongkwon Yusul |
| | My goals so far for the year are pretty simple.
1. Get a lot fitter - I'm already well on the way to doing this
2. Get 1st dan in hapkido
3. Get 1st dan in taekwondo Now slightly more bruised than before. |
| | I have always wanted to do a Martial Arts Camp. This year one of my main goals is to do one, either in Ninjitsu or MMA. There's nothing on offer in Australia, but am quite a frequent traveler - anyone have any suggestions?
