There's a couple of changes I'm thinking about making to the site and I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on them before I jump in...

1. Links section
I've been thinking about changing the links on the home page for quite a while. This change would basically involve adding a new section to the site specifically for links and the home page would be updated to only show the latest "hot" links. The separate links section would allow for more detail (description, ratings etc) for each link....

Would this be useful?

2. Mini-calendar & latest media
I think the mini-calendar and latest media on the home page are actually displayed in the wrong order. I'm thinking the mini-calendar is less important at this stage and should be under the latest media. As part of this I'm also thinking of changing the latest media to display in a list and include the image/video title and other details.

Good idea?

3. Next/Previous buttons in gallery
I agree that these are needed although it is technically difficult to achieve. The problem is that when you are viewing an image or video there's no real way of knowing what is the next/previous item in the gallery. This is because you could be viewing only a subset of the items (e.g. everything tagged with the word "hapkido").

The way I see it to achieve this we could do a few things:

- Ignore the "subset" problem and always show the next/previous item in the entire gallery

- Change the gallery to have sub-galleries so each member can put items in a gallery of their choice. The next/previous would simply show the next/previous in that gallery

- The same as above except grouping by the member that uploaded the media.

Any other ideas?

Of course as well as these items there's a list as long as my arm...

I reckon sub-galleries, similar to the AHA site.

I have implemented the next/previous links in the gallery now and support for "Albums" will be coming shortly.

Now slightly more bruised than before.
