Headphones / earbuds for jogging

Hi guys

I'm having trouble finding a set of earbuds that work well for me when jogging etc.

I used to have ones that clip over the ears, but they broke a while ago and so I've tried a couple of ear bud types, but i'm just not happy with them.

They either fall out of my ears, especially when you get sweaty, or they get pulled out of your ears because of the cord swinging back and forth as you're jogging.

So I need one that fits in the ears securely, or go back to the clip over the ears ones.

And I also need something that can clip the cord to my shirt.

For any of you that listen to music while jogging or exercising, what do you guys use and do you find it ok?

PS: I strap the ipod to my arm.

Cheers

Yeah I've noticed the same problem with the few different types of ear buds I have tried too. I think your best bet would be the clip on ones or maybe some kind of cordless bluetooth ones might work as well.

I ended up going with some SkullCandy ones that clip over the ears:
http://www.skullcandy.com/shop/chops-black-chrome.html

I didn't want to spend too much money, and these were $44.95 from JB Hifi.

They feel good - I can still hear stuff around me (important when jogging!) and most importantly they don't fall off.

I got a clip off my old phone earphones that can hold the cord and clip onto my shirt, so the cord doesn't swing about and get caught on stuff.

I think i'm set now.

Not yet - just jumped up and down around the house :)

I'll go for a jog tomorrow morning to try them out.

Will be at adcock park around 6:55am if you're keen :)

I ended up going on Sunday morning instead of Saturday morning, and am happy to report that my headphones are great. So much better when I don't have to keep stressing about them falling out!

Did the 3 laps in 23:50 - starting to get back down to the times I was doing before I stopped for about 2-3 months! My best time is 23:20.

Glad the headphones worked out!

I'd like to get into jogging again at least a bit but I'm really not sure how my shins will hold up. I guess I can start off easy and see how they go...

Those headphones look interesting. How are they for noise canceling and/or external noise? I'm after a new set that are in-ear ones so the external noise is decreased but don't want to annoy passengers on the train with my noise.

If you're after in-ear ones I'd say don't go past apple's product. this one is a newer model than the previous 2 set I've had but if they're anything like the old ones you will love them. Excellent noise cancelling and the sound quality is superb consider what they are.

They are different. I think I had the previous generation and the rubber cups would always rotate in my ear whenever moved till the point they would fall out. Great sound quality but they wouldn't stay in that well if I was moving.

These new ones look like they could do the job.

I would still have them if they weren't inside of my vacuum cleaner.

I didn't want noise cancelling ones. When i'm jogging I still need to be able to hear stuff around me for safety! :)

They stay on my ears - that was the main criteria for my new ones :)

I got a set of 'Panasonic' clip over the ear type head phones from K-Mart this afternoon for $18. I also have had they same problem with my iPhone when I want to listen to music when running.
Will see how they go.
